Word on the street is that Turns 2 and 5 have been changed:

  • Turn 2 "Enrage" method is now harder. The AoE is now both stronger and faster. It can still be done but it's harder.
  • Tanks can no longer go into a Conflag to avoid Death Sentence. It resets hate and/or makes Twintania attack whoever's second on the list.
  • Conflags supposedly have less HP and are easier to kill.
  • The Dive-bomb marker is now twice as big.
  • Snakes supposedly have less HP.

lol time for my coil group to stop being lazy and learn turn 2 :p

Those turn 5 adjustments sound good. Now people don't need to worry about timing death sentance before conflags start. The larger divebomb icon and lower snake HP will help us get to the twister phase atleast lol.

haha...

Well, I guess it's time for team French Toast to finally learn how to do turn 2 legit. We're the only CKD group that cheeses it.

As for turn 5. I dunno. Seems like may be overall it may make the encounter easier. Probably harder on the healer, though. But it does stop us from having to worry about when the first necklace drops, right?

Turn 5 is now essentially easier, yes.

The Death Sentence thing was never really required in the first place, it just made things less stressful on your healers for the first half of the fight. You still had to do Death Sentence properly for the second half of the fight anyway.

What sucks is that you can end up with a healer (or even two) stuck in a conflag unable to heal, and suddenly Death Sentence is a massive problem.

It might encourage people to use the tank swap method. Just provoke during death sentence so the auto attack that follows it doesn't kill them.

The other changes (easier conflag/snakes/divebomb marker) all make it slightly easier.

The tank swap method could be interesting. Especially if you 3-stack for fireballs, and you can just stack the two pets, as a result, freeing the OT for swapping purposes.

In related news, SMN and SCH no longer count as the same base job, in regards to the limit bar increases. So that should make the bar raise a bit faster. Not necessarily big news, but good, all the same.

Really happy about the conflag change, though. We were just scraping by some on ours, and we weren't timing that first necklace very well, due to that aggro bug acting up on pulls and such. So overall, I think that this may be better for our group.

Yea the limit break/snake change even helps the "very best" Turn 5 clears too since when we pushed DPS we actually could get to snakes without hitting even 2 bars, and most groups probably couldn't hit 3 bars and still beat enrage after limit change, and killing with 2 bars was probably very hard for a lot of people.

I'll wait and see how much weaker snakes/conflags are. I'm mostly worried about conflagged healers + death sentence/plummets

It's not a huge nerf. Tanks losing the ability to avoid death sentance while hiding in conflag balances it out a bit.

We already stopped putting the Tank in conflag. Decided it would be better to just heal through it.

Would be curious to look into the tank swapping during this phase, since we don't need the OT for a fireball sponge, if we have SCH/SMN pets.

Apparently now Yoshi has come out and said that these changes are an unintentional side effect of fixing some other bug, and they're looking to revert them:

There have also been other mistakes like this, including mistakes/missing items in the patchnotes which lead to such a situation, and I apologise for them.

Already fixed? haha. Well, I guess that's good, but I was kind of hoping to keep the Turn 5 changes, in all honesty.

Now our group has to go back to figuring out how to consistantly pull the adds, so we can drop necklaces reliably each attempt. Ugh.

Someone posted that conflag hp is back to normal, but Asclepius still has about 40k less hp.
