So coil reset is now happening on tuesdays. Lame.

Also, from the live letter:

Update 15: 6:19 EST – The echo buff for Coil turns 1-5 will be increased every two weeks starting two weeks after the patch launch. Phase 1 will reduce monster hp by 10%, and will adjust Clockwork Knight’s reflection. Phase 2 will reduce monster HP by 15% and increase cure potency by 15% and phase 3 will reduce monster HP by 30% and increase cure potency by 30%.

Man, I never realized the echo buff was that strong. 30% decrease is huge for fights like Twin.

Not quite sure why they'd put the ramp-up schedule in place, though, unless they simply wanted to give people who've already killed twin 2 weeks to try and get ahead in 6-9. I assume those people would be completing it way sooner, anyway.

Tuesday resets for thigns seems like a huge pain in the ass. In particular because our party can't raid on Tuesdays.

Honestly Tuesday isn't a great night for me either, but it's not like everybody has to do it on reset day anyway.

In fact, they've moved practically everything to Tuesday, which kind of defeats the point surely. Instead we'll just get server problems on Tuesdays now instead.

If they wanted to spread it out through the week they'd make these things all reset on different days. Or make the reset happen 5-6 days after you last beat it, or something.

Yah. Seems pretty effing stupid, if you ask me. Tomes/CT reset one night, Coil resets another night. Anyone who complains about not capping their tomes, due to not being able to Coil on the night of can hike up their huggies and man up a bit.

In other news.

Gladiators get Lion mounts, and Marauders get Bear mounts.

Or to put it better...

Unsure if it's a 2.2. or 2.3 thing.

Its perhaps not everything (like say the primal extreme quest) but it seemed like everything people cared about.

Complete Patch Notes: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodestone ... 139b3464da

There are a few more things in there since the initial reveal, so it's worth a quick skim through again. In particular, all of the new items (and their item levels) and recipes are there.

EDIT:

Let me guess, these aren't retroactive -_-...

Quote:
A Tankless Job I (Paladin)
Complete 50 high-level full party duties as a paladin.
Title: the Meat Shield

A Tankless Job II (Paladin)
Complete 100 high-level full party duties as a paladin.
Title: of the Stalwart Shield

But Somebody's Gotta Do It (Paladin)
Complete 200 high-level full party duties as a paladin.
Item: Warlion Horn

A Tankless Job I (Warrior)
Complete 50 high-level full party duties as a warrior.
Title: the Meat Axe

A Tankless Job II (Warrior)
Complete 100 high-level full party duties as a warrior.
Title: of the Stalwart Axe

But Somebody's Gotta Do It (Warrior)
Complete 200 high-level full party duties as a warrior.
Item: Warbear Horn

EDIT2: Nice.
EDIT3: Well, sort of. It's not automatic? Why not??
EDITEDIT: At least there's a text command for it...
"/partysort, /psort -- Sort the party list in the specified order. "

Quote:
The Sort Party List button has been added to the Party Members tab of the Social interface.

When in a party of three or more players, pressing the Sort Party List button will arrange your party list in the following order: Player > Tanks > Healers > DPS

EDIT4: Hurray, I can finally spy on what everybody is doing!

Quote:
The location of players bound by duty will now be displayed when viewing the social menu, free company window, and linkshell window.

Image

EDIT5: Item linking. :o

Quote:
The transparency of the log window can now be adjusted.
To adjust transparency, select the Log Window Transparency slider on the General tab of Log Window Settings menu in the Character Configuration interface.

Item help text can now be linked to the log window.
Dragging and dropping an item icon into the chat input bar will input "" in the text field. Entry of this text will display the item name in the log window. Selecting this text with the cursor will then display the item's help text.
* As of patch 2.2, only basic information will be displayed. Details such as affixed materia are scheduled to be added in a future update.

Image

Why wasn't half of this stuff in the notes before?

EDIT6: And a spoiler in the patch notes that many may miss. Click here if you want to know:

Spoiler: show
There's an item named "White Raven Armor Fragment".

It's used to craft some unique furniture.

The White Raven is, of course, Nael van Darnus. Who made a very quick background cameo at the end of Coil 1. He's likely the boss of Coil 2.

Ah, so we are getting the furry tractors in 2.2. That's pretty neat. I'm not a huge fan of the unicorns. Any of 'em. There's something about their art that just doesn't jive 100% with the rest of the 14 art design. I hope they do better with the bear/lion. (The Primal unicorns look terrible, but I'm not sure if those are 2.2, or not.)

They blanked out a lot of the quest names for "spoilers" but there's so many other spoilers throughout the whole of the patch notes I wonder why they bothered.

Duty Roulette: Trials will be nice if you're bored or want a few free tomes/seals/gil/whatever. It'll be like queuing for Low Level and getting Ifrit, except every time.

Interesting Note: It says that the two new Duty Roulettes are unlocked when you BEAT all of the trials in the roulette, not just when you unlock two or more of them. So you shouldn't get people rouletting themselves into something they haven't beaten. (They can queue it of course)

EDIT: This has been retroactively fitted for "Duty Roulette: High Level" too. You can't use it if you've never beaten all dungeons/trials in it's category.

Can't wait! Party sort will save me such a headache. I hated manually doing that before instanced fights. I'm going to make a /partysort macro for extra laziness.

I always spyed on people in FFXI. FFXIV mad me sad because you couldn't spy on people in duty finder...which is basically where all the cool stuff happens. I'll be happy with that change.

My only complaint about this update. I'm a bit sad they changed the raid reset days. We had a good thing before. Hopefully it doesn't mess things up too much.

Everything else looks good!
