Allagan Resin Reagent A multi-purpose aetherochemical concoction devised by the Allagans for use in many of their creations.

New form relics are i125.

Note that there is a relic quest called Ponze of Flesh and a note about a current issue with that quest not highlighting a portion of the map for a requirement in Brayflox Hard.

Ninja lost none of its attack potency, except the Kiss venom bonus on Ninjutsu.

Heavy Thrust no longer needs to be struck from the side to get the 15% damage bonus. Striking from the side will be a requirement for the potency to jump to 170, as before.

Impulse Drive no longer needs to be struck from behind to continue the debuff combo, nor is rear attack required for the potency bonus. It's now set at 180 potency.

Chaos Thrust, the debuff combo closer, will still do 200 regularly. The dot effect is boosted from 30 to 35 potency, and the main attack can be boosted from 200 to 250 potency by striking from behind.

Full Thrust is boosted to 360 potency.

Life surge recast shortened from 60 seconds to 50.

Jump recast shortened from 40 seconds to 30.

Dragoon armor has the same magic defense as Monk, Ninja, and Bard.

Stoneskin 2 can be cast by white mages/conjurers to stoneskin the whole party, but only outside of (see: before) battle.

I think item level synch being removed from "High level" dungeons is related to the new relic quests.

It's way easier to get artisan main hand tools and spectacles.

Two new unspoiled nodes.

LONGINUS.

LONGINUS.

You know, going by that Brayflox note at the end, I'm really hoping that the objectives for the new relic quests are to do things in the old dungeons and trials.

One thing I really liked about the 1.0 relic quest was that the second half of it (once you got past the horrible grind) essentially required you to master all of the game's existing content. Beating dungeons and defeating bosses with ludicrous time limits and sub-objectives. (E.g. defeat Garuda with zero party deaths in under X minutes, open every single chest in a dungeon and beat it in under X minutes, etc.)

I was wondering what they could possibly add for this relic, without going to the trouble of adding major content, and without giving us another stupid grind to do. I thought it'd be nice if we had objectives like beating dungeons in under X minutes, defeat Titan Ex without killing his adds, defeat all 6 Ex primals within the span of a single hour, stuff like that.

Just wishful thinking. Everyone will know what the real objectives are by the time they read this post.

EDIT: Apparently it sounds like you get the wedding minion by being invited and attending someone else's wedding. Suddenly, everybody cares to go to your wedding.

EDIT2: DAT miners are saying that, apparently, you need 1) 3-star crafted items, and 2) items that you have a "small chance" of getting when you beat certain dungeons...

Map RNG, Every type of Desynth/3star craft, Big Fish, Dungeon RNG, and probable FATE grinding too.

At least they made it easier for Mastercraft/Supras... I guess I'll finish the set after all.

Edit1: Source: DAT miners.

So from reading the quest log, the relic quest is roughly as follows. Four simultaneous quests, each with their own set of sequential steps. Dungeons are all "hard mode" and require you to finish the dungeon for a "small chance" at getting the item. All items required for desynthesis of crafting materials apparently come from the Silver Bazaar. Unsure on Unique/Untradeable status of desynth and crafting items just yet, knowing SE you need to do them all yourself. Crafted items likely required to be HQ, and also require Belah'dian Silver, which drops from treasure maps.

QUEST1

Confirming that you can run the 4 subquests in tandem with eachother. The grind begins!

Once you complete the first quest, you won't be given a marker or journal entry telling you where the next ones are, but you can go straight to them to pick up the quests. 3 are in Mor Dhona (Papana, Guiding Star, Brangwine), 1 in central Thanalan (Mutamix's apprentice).

It's apparently confirmed that you do NOT need your relic weapon equipped for dungeon items to drop, just have the quest open. Presumably this means you don't need to be on the right job either.

Suddenly everybody queues as tanks and healers.

EDIT:

So, it seems you're gonna need:

400,000 Gil
80,000 GC Seals
6,400 Soldiery
Lots of hard mode dungeon grinding (At least you'll be getting that soldiery...)
Most (all?) crafts levelled up to 3 star level (? not sure if crafted items can be sold yet)
Some level of desynthesis (? not sure if crafting materials can be sold yet)

So far though this is looking less of a grind than I expected for the final step.

EDIT2: Some craft materials come from treasure maps (B. Silver) and some comes from Big Fish :X )

Sounds like the desynth requirement isn't that bad:
Quote:
Did some desynthing for the crafted mats. So all the recipes are 3 star. Each desynthable piece costs 3k. At GSM 100, the chance of success was 100%, at CRP 79, the Spear desynth chance of success was 91.5%. Got 3 HQ aged eyes of fire from 11 rings, 2 spear shafts. The rest was just low level junk.

Looks like both the mats and the final items are sellable on the AH.

And I just desynthed about 50 or so Aged Rings and got 11 NQ, 1 HQ Aged Eye.

They're like Atma, but it's not when you kill the boss, its when you exit the dungeon.

This suddenly makes the final part of the relic quest line a lot more manageable. Not because we can just buy them, but because our FC should have at least one person with 3/4+ star crafting in every discipline.

I've heard the dungeon item drop rate isn't completely terrible either.

Non-story spoilers for the end of the relic quest:
(That's right, somebody has managed to finish it already)

Spoiler: show
The end of the relic quest has a masterful troll moment from SE. You are required to transfer your relic's "soul" into a newly crafted host. You are presented with this message:

How many people's hearts will skip a beat?

They should have made it look like the real materia conversion window.

EDIT: I think making it a more reasonable (but still soul-destroyingly low) percentage would have had a better effect. Like 25%.

Unlike the original relics where Gerolt basically congratulates you and tells you not to break it, apparently each zodiac has a unique closing informational bit from Jalzahn:

From reddit, and because this would probably interest Dead. You can supposedly see Ealdwine (son of Brangwine, the drunk treasure hunter guy who unlocks treasure hunting, tells you what to give Brangwine for your relic item) hiding in the background of the final relic cutscenes:
