Cmon now guys i like the mithra gear its the first time the legionare harness has been reskinned and it looks good, everyone else seems to love the sandorian red armor, but bastok sucks and has crappy reskinned armor.

FFXI could be a billion times better if they would drop PS2 support and revamp the engine. or hay make a new MMO thats PC only! ok ok PS3 too since im sure it can blow the pants off a PS2.

Elvaan stuff looks like a hauberk. That has had way too many reskins and fucking fails lol. Same goes for the taru and the Mithra harness is just another mix of reskinned gear. WTG SE. That shit is pathetic. They know that they can do better.

A new MMO is necessary for them to really grow their playerbase and maintain it for any length of time (they can make more money with a better and new MMORPG). The game needs to be more balanced and fun from the ground up. FFXI was repetitive as fuck in the grinding department with gameplay that now seems slow as hell compared to MMOs like Lineage II. The skillchain and general elemental wheel relation with MB and all that crap is what made FFXI really unique and it didn't matter as much in xp and isn't as great as kraken and souleater for end game. Most hits per round and massive damage wins out in most RPGs though. Same reason I went with Master Speed and Master Flurry in the KOTOR games.

I will not play it as I am done with MMORPGs, especially the pay $15 a month type (no PSU either). Online games are fun enough with Xbox Live. Neverwinter Nights 2 has online campaigns for PC and Unreal Tournament 3 is awesome. You can play on free MMORPG servers even. Its bullshit, Gamefly owns so much more for 15 bucks a month as you get more variety out of your 15 bucks a month to get unlimited rentals on console games.

Its better than paying a monthly fee for a MMORPG that stays the same basically. Variety instead of the same shit, month after month.

The game system itself is boring. Everything from the XP to the BCNMs to ENMs. Every damn NM in the game is kinda boring. The only exciting thing anyone could do in FFXI imo is kill AV, and even that fight will probably be a borefest. People kill DL, Bahamut V2 and countless others in 60-120 seconds with a Kraken and Souleater lol. The game is shit. Dynamis is boring as fuck and even Limbus got old. Besieged was cool for a while, but it could wear like Dynamis did. It still is FFXI gameplay, which isn't that great to start with. That was my main problem with FFXI, the gameplay was repetitive and boring. The game is work, no matter if I am xping a lowbie job or doing Limbus. Chocobo racing is a damn joke lol. That was the closest they came to making something different gameplay wise. Mediocre and redundant, that is how I would explain FFXI. The community was the only decent part.

I guess its just a matter of personal preferance Eternus. I still find plenty of fun with this game (as long as im not on brd) even after playing since NA release. I will agree with you that the whole claiming bullshit is really old. SE could solve these problems by simply making the KS99 versions of landkings drop the same items. It would eliminate the need to cheat to have a decent chance at getting that gear. And yes, after a few months Dynamis is extremely boring lol.

I still think part of who you play with is what makes the game fun.

Example with wow was that even though I played with two RL friends, we hardly did anything in game together and the playerbase of wow is poop. Never met anyone decent on there.

i was trolling ign the other day, and found an article titled "Next Gen Square Enix MMO" it talked about that one demo video that was lanched last year i think, the one that looked like FFXI, but better looking. but the actual article didnt have much information, it said that they plan on releasing it on pc/ps3/360 but it didnt talk about a storyline, any kind of release date, any real information was nowhere in sight. it doesnt even have a title. the only thing i got from it was, its gonna happen, and they showed us along time ago.
