I think I'm getting a hang of it now. I mean with the lighting. I can do a lot more than just throw the Skylight in there. Im also doing alot of editing of models to make them look a little nicer. I almost figured out how to work the skeletons.

Anyway Im really proud of this one. Hence me making a whole new thread for it haha.

Looks alot better than your others. Kinda justifies 3D max over model viewer. Since you can basically do everything in Photoshop that I've seen. Haha.

holy shit thats nice.. the ONLY part that buggs me is down my the feet, it looks like the character is inflated and his ankles are outa air... looks like its deflating rather than bending

Although realisticly speakin, the blade render looks good, and would reflect something like that, but since it's an artsy picture, you should make it white with a slight metalic gleam against the dark colors behind it, it would look a little cooler

only criticism is that the blade doesnt look good. It doesnt look right being blue. Vivi is right with what he said. Another idea that would be cool is to have the blade reflect ANOTHER wyrm in the background coming towards the sam 8)

The blade probably looks off because the light source is supposed to be the moon behind him, and the blade is reflecting in the wrong direction.

Things Im trying to get working


Different dragon reflection off the blade.
Moon as a light source (shadows reflecting from the direction of the moon)
Atmospheric tinting, so that the colours of the enviroment tint the models.

I have one rendering now, although because of the shape of the blade, the relfection is going to be streched and stuff. This render is probably going to take until I finish work. Bleh (like 11:00PM EST)

Would be pretty cool if you could have Tal's back with his sword after like, Tachi: Gekko or something, with his back to the dead dragon and shit. Where you can't see the full dragon, just the corpse reflected in the sword.

see, if you ask me, that looks hella better... but still. its just not natural for a reflection to be like that unless the dragon is behind the character... unless the sword is made of glass.

and fix the deflating foot

Should import some ground and enviroment stuff from a terrain generator.
