I think it's a bit of a fruitless exercise at the moment. Gil is so easy to to get (just do some leves or sell some shards) and there's nothing to really buy yet either that I really can't see people bothering to buy gil.

Most people are already running around with enough gil to buy an entire set of "end-game" armor, there's just no supply yet.

im not sure if we are rich, or if end game have people with 100 million.

Prices on stuff are dropping fast as more people are levelling crafts higher and undercutting like crazy. I think due to the difficulty of selling things in the Market Wards, people are just setting their prices low so they can just sell the damn stuff already and move on. Most people I know are walking around with 1,000,000 gil+ while only in their Rank 20s, yet people are shouting to sell Rank 30+ armor for only 100k.

It probably helps that people have cottoned on to the whole Optimal Rank thing, and selling super high level gear for lots of money just so people can look awesome doesn't work anymore. People aren't going to pay 400k+ for armor 20 levels above them that will give them shitty stats and cost a fortune to repair all the time, when it'll take them like 2 months to actually reach that level and by then hundreds of crafters will be able to make them.

Luckily, as people are getting smarter with the Optimal Rank thing, people aren't always just buying whatever the very best item on the market is anymore. Croche still hasn't sold any of that Cavalry gear or Visored Barbut from what I can tell. Maybe one or two pieces to some crazies. But it means you can craft some low level bronze armor and still stand a chance of selling it.

Anyway, point is, I think we're "rich" as long as the market wards make it so hard to find things. I'm under the impression that once they add a Market Wards search, you still won't be able to see the value of something without checking it for yourself. They said the search would tell you which ward you can find your item and it would display an icon over retainers who are selling that item, but it said nothing about telling you how much the item was worth. I reckon the economy will still be fluctuating around for a while with people undercutting like crazy just so they can get their stuff to sell quicker. In that respect, that'll keep armor prices low, and that makes us all rich. There's not really anything else to spend gil on yet.

Well, except shards... Shards will be the key of the economy balance probably. It's reportedly taking 3000+ shards per level once you hit ranks 30-40, which is roughly 600k worth of shards if you just buy them all. I recall someone saying SE said they were going to adjust the number of shards per synth at some point. Needing 30+ shards per synth gets a bit ridiculous.

ket are you saying we need to get 1 billon gils to be really rich?

Im playing FFXII on the PS2 Emulator for PC. Since my PS3 with BC no longer reads disks, I can only play it on PC or PS2 and I dont feel like unpacking my ps2.


FFXII looks amazing upscaled to 1080p. This screen shot doesnt really look as nice. The game ends up taking a 2048x2048 res screen shot, then i have to restreach it to 1080p. Its sharper in game.

Yarr, if you're playing FF12 on an emulator, you need to download the International "Zodiac" Edition and patch the original English files into it.

Pretty sure some guy made a thing that does it for you. It allows you to play the vastly superior Zodiac edition with full english. Zodiac edition assigns jobs to each of your characters so they're not all carbon copies, and gives you the full set of gambits right from the start of the game, as well as a lot of new ones that help with dealing with groups (like being able to automatically cast sleep if there are more than X mobs) as well as lots of other tweaks and stuff.

Nah, im already 100 hours in. I just need to do the last push for the storyline and a bunch of side quests.
