I'm hoping that we can put together a collection of in-game Shiloh Stories and pictures that we can share with the family to give them a bit of insight to the kind of person that he was in the game. They seemed to be amazed that people would be willing to travel far to come and see him, but he meant alot to us, and I know we all must have some stories that we could share to let the family in on who he was when he was hiding in his room on the computer. So if anyone has a story they would like to add, they can post it here along with pictures. If there is any problem uploading here or posting here, you can email it directly to me at justin.meddaugh@gmail.com. If you know anyone who might be able to contribute who you don't think reads this forum regularly, please forward this message to them. |

Here is my message: I think to convey how I felt about Clifford would require someone to understand how Final Fantasy XI for a few years of our lives became a second life. It became a place where we could go to escape the stresses of the real world and enjoy the camaraderie of true friends... friends who don't judge you for your faults, friends who are there for you in your time of need, friends who together can accomplish much more than you can alone. Clifford, or Shiloh as we called him, was someone I met early on in the game, but I knew early on that he was someone special. He was an easy-going guy with a good heart who built up a spotless reputation. He was a leader and a protector who would dive into impossible situations if he thought it would help his friends, and he did so with complete trust in me that I had his back. He was completely selfless, never asking for favors, only taking pleasure in seeing others happy. There was probably no emotion I felt stronger than the pride in seeing Shiloh stand up to the hardest challenges the game had to offer, all the while knowing we made it to that uncharted territory because we stuck together through the good times and bad and were there for each other no matter what. I swear I had some pictures a long time ago when I was taking screen shots of all the CKD people I met in-game. I don't know what happened to those pics, probably on one of my old computers... I'll go through them after work today. Pretty sure it was a picture of Shiloh and Peejo in Kazham or something. |

Shiloh was the nicest guy. He was always willing to help out. Even though ffxi was so long ago, I still and will always think about the people that were my friends for that time in my life. I was really sad to hear about his death. Here is a picture I drew for Shiloh, its a skimpy version of his fancy purple paladin armor (seen in picture below). 
This is when he helped us with some rank mission or something.

Him straight up tanking Byakko as a PLD when people all thought it wasn't possible was awesome. We and everyone we knew did the old NIN blink tank on Byakko. We made the PLD straight tanking work really well that time. I wonder if I have any screenshots of that fight on my old PC. |

Wow... I didn't know Shiloh past away two years ago. Fuck, I'm at a loss for words. I still have the animated sig I made for him over 6 years ago, final draft of the gif created Monday, November 22, 2004, 1:19:35 pm. His was one of my first batch of attempts using ingame FFXI recorded footage for gif banner/signature. I remember asking him to head to Xarcabard and took several fraps captures of Swift Blade and Savage Blade from several angles (along with other skills but those two made the final cut). It's quite dispiriting to see the image still in his sig under his account, hosted by imageshack and he's no longer around.

Yeah any time I look through old threads I see his sig is still running, it's pretty cool. Shiloh let me into a group he was helping on the Shadow Lord mission fight when he found me sneaking around halfway through the castle trying to get there alone just to hear the fight music. That was Oct 30 2004. |

awww man how did I missed this post, I used to have our path cross from time to time. Sometime I would join party with him. I'll look in my old laptop to see if I can find pic of him if I some got luck. May Angel of Death come forth to guide his soul to heaven and face Judgment of God, So he may rest in peace Shiloh. |
