Just a heads up that I wont be around much in the next week.

After about 48 hours of labour my wife ended up having to get a c-section. He was born on March 17 at 15:48.
My wife is in pretty rough shape after all the labour and operation so Im going to be really busy taking care of her and James (the new baby).

I'll post some pictures later (probably after tuesday when we get back from the hospital).

Awe grats to the new family!

Make sure you teach him how to type as as soon as possible so you can tag-team insult Gavin.

Good news, your baby has the same name as me. I always knew we had a special connection, Yarr.

AWESOME! I cant wait to see those pictures and you holding your 1st family baby in your life.

My wife had C-section twice and its not so bad but waitting for her to get better is longest. It depends on ladies how well they can heal and walk around.

Yarr, Enjoy your baby every min cause they grow up so fast. I enjoyed my kids when they are babies. Even now I still enjoy them as they grow up and teach them about our life and world!

I agree with Ket, infants can be pretty weird looking. Hes just figuring out how to focus his eyes and hes all crazy looking.

Its a pretty surreal experiance.

You have a St Patricks baby!

Random comment: My cousin also had a c-section and had her baby last weekend - on Saturday the 17th.

Canadian health care sucks. We are trying to leave early since we havent been able to get a private room. After two nights we are still third in line for a private room. Right now we are still in the wards, sharing a room with three other newborns. It sucks.
If all goes well we should br back home tonigt around 8pm

Wow! I always thought the "long lines" at Canadian hospitals/doctors offices was b.s. propoganda to convince Americans to keep hating the idea of universal health care.

Hopefully you make it home tonight.

At least they're keeping you at all. In the US they try to discharge you home ASAP even if it's not in mother or child's health interests. It's not unusual to be sent home next day after c-section with zero after care. Even if you have to wait or never receive a private room, it's at least nice that you're getting some form of medical care in a hospital setting and without a $35,000 bill. ;)

Hope mom and babe are doing well still, 48 hours is rough! Let's see more pics of his face :)

ps: going to call Corwin, Jim Bob from now on.

Nope, people in my company that live in Canada say it's the fucking worst. You lose some enormous percentage of your paycheck for the pleasure of standing in line for hours to get sub par health care most of the time. Never rely on any government for this, they'll just fuck it up!
