I want your dog!!! This has always been my dream dog. I just feel it would be selfish of me to have one in Florida where it is so hot all the time.

Yah. Florida may be too hot for huskies. Kitty took some good pics of Rose and Ridere enjoying the snow a few days ago.

Been looking back in some of my pictures lately. most of them are fairly cringe worthy, but others I wonder if it would be possible to recreate them. I've done photography as a hobby for about 8 years now. started out with a simple canon point and shoot and was able to capture some nice images.

Image

later I moved on to a Nikon D40, and some of my favorite captures are still from that camera.

Image

I guess the D40 was more of an experimental phase for me on whether I would fine photography interesting enough to stick with it. I did alot of lego photography back then lol. I think alot would change if I tried it now.

If the D40 was a experimental/learning phase for me the D5100 is more of a composition phase. I have learned enough in what the basics where by the time I got the D5100, not my interest was composition. Basicly what makes an appealing image. at least appealing to me.

Image

Lately I've been feeling less motivate to use my camera. I think im starting to lack passion for the hobbie and have been experiencing some gear aquisition syndrome (GAS) where I'm getting gear for something that I wont do often. I want to say that I've moved away from that to a more conceptual factor but I still crave the new gear. I guess im stuck in where i want to go next and getting more gear will probably not help.

Image

Been reading Eric Kim's blog lately and I think I may want to try Street Photography...

Street photography can be really powerful and I admire people who are into it. I don't feel comfortable taking random people's photos so definitely would not be for me.

As for your stages, I enjoyed reading about them. I've just been into photography for about a year now I would put myself in the middle stage of what you described. I know I still have a long long way to go and I am still learning.

Interesting Documentary.

What fascinates me about this movie is that as everything is moved on to digitial future generations will not be able to discover people like this and their work cause its probably sitting on the web and that will be deleted as soon as the person passes away.
