Im about to go do some christmas shopping for the wife, but I've been having a very hard time thinking about what I want.
Im going to look for stuff I want, because I honestly cant think of anything this year. The only things I want are really expensive. If it wasnt expensive I would have bought it haha.
Sunshine is also buying a 2011 Mazda 3 in the next few days. So I dont have to worry to much about getting her some amazing gifts.

Still, I dont know what I want. I really want to upgrade my PC. I just need a CPU and Ram. Friend of mine at work has a high end referbished motherboard hes going to sell me for 50 bucks. So getting just a CPU and RAM isnt too expensive.

Im going to head out to the mall.

Yah, my computer runs FF14 pretty good, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to make a completely beffy computer now.

I found a few things I want.

Aliens Quadriligiy on Blue-ray
The Pacific
Marvel Cups (from HMV)

There really isnt too much I want. Everything I do want is well above 150 bucks.

I got a lot for my wife, but nothing that big. I still managed to spend almost 200 bucks.

I have this problem and the rest of my family hates me for it.

If I want it and it doesn't cost more than it's worth, I'd just buy it. This leaves people to buy me things that I either don't want, or aren't worth it.

What do you buy the guy who has everything? Socks and chocolate, apparently.

I'm in the same boat, which may be why I don't really like Christmas.

I do like getting people gift's though, just not getting them.

I'd be happy if everyone would just give me $5 to put towards my student loans.

Christmas is the time of year when Ryan asks santa clause for box sets of TV shows he wants, but doesn't want to buy 14 seasons of (South Park), as well as movies that he wouldn't mind adding to his collection, but doesn't feel like buying.

Also, I tend to ask for random domestic stuff, like Furniture, appliances, things like that, since my Grandma always likes buying me stuff like that.

Yeah, christmas tends to be the suck for people who don't know what they want. I love giving but getting is irritating to me.

Btw, people who want a pro upgrade for their computer, get an SSD. I like OCZ because they have good customer support, a lot of the companies use the same NAND-flash from the same company, they just make their own controllers and I've heard bad things about some companies like Kingston. Anandtech has given very positive reviews for OCZ because they've gone out of their way to make their shit work well, Samsung is also another good company. But if you want the very best, go with Intel, they make their own NAND-flash and controllers so they will be #1 for quite some time.

Newegg has an OCZ Vertex2 120gb SSD for $190 after MIR for the next 55hr and 40min as of this posting. Just wanted to give everyone a head's up.

Ask for a gift card to whatever store the expensive item is in. Thats what I do. Everyone unknowingly ends up pitching in to help me buy something really cool.

I tend to only buy gifts for people if I have an epiphany and realize I can get them something that'll actually get a positive honest reaction. Got my brother an astronaut pen (You like this pen? This is an astronaut pen, they use it in space, it writes upside down.) and a log book because he drives a cab now and a few years back got him a first wave pressing of the Crystals He's a Rebel record and the Then He Kissed Me single. He's way into Phil Spector.

I'm basically in the same boat as Rid though, wouldn't mind Jurassic Park or Hunt for Red October on dvd. Movies like that, that aren't normally on netflix but I've seen 200,000 times and for some reason do not own. I'm visiting home for a week, going to surprise my mom. She had to work on thanksgiving, made me swell up with righteous fury. Because of this I'm going to miss my bar's employee christmas party, Cheeses for Jesus AND going to miss Paul Di'Anno the next day. I look forward to getting back to this one pizza place in Green Point, a Polish neighborhood in Brooklyn, that has eggplant parmiggian pizza.

Anyway, I hear there's some kind of footy pajamas for grown-ups that is the new snuggy this year. I think it sounds like weird fetishist shit. You should get one for everyone you hate.

I told everyone in my family to donate to this charity raffle cause there's a ton of books/items I'd love to win from it. Think I ended up with 28 entries:

I'm looking forward to getting all my travel gear for January. Heading out to Europe last week of next month so that will be pretty sweet. Other than that I really hate Christmas. Waste of time. /scrooge

I also buy/have almost everything I want that costs less than $200.

I asked for a logitech harmony "one" universal remote, a logitech wireless controller for PC (for FFXIV), or a new snowboarding jacket. I'd be happy with a giftcard though.

I'm finished with shopping, I just have to wrap. I bought good presents for my family and bought my girlfriend a fancy mesh ring from Tiffanys (that she LOVES).

Furniture and furnishings. I moved in to a new apartment about five months ago and I'm still amassing furnishings to make it less depressing. My parents got us a satin(!?) bed set that is quite literally shiny. Feels nice though. Got some curtains too, and I also want a new phone.
