It's already January 1st here! I've just been outside setting fireworks off.

We set off some of those Chinese Lanterns that seem to be all the rage this year too.

Managed to get signal long enough to post this from my dads iPad; happy new year!

Having some champagne in the blue ridge parkway, watching a fire. Hope 2011 treats everyone better.

Last night I saw (what looked like) a flaming bag or orb that was floating in the sky and drifting very slowly. It was mesmerizing. I stared at it for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out WTF it was. Is that a chinese lantern?

Yeah it's basically a mini hot air balloon you light and then let float off into the sky. You see them floating around flickering like candles in the distance for a couple hours.
