I had a virus, certain programs would open bad shit instead of the actual program. The virus was removed but I still can't open the affected programs.

"The file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel"

When I go to the control panel>Default programs>Set associations it shows, for example, that itunes and all its file extensions are defaulted to open with itunes already, that everything is cool.

How do I make the computer understand that I can't open itunes?
How do I fix it?

I can open it on other user accounts on my computer and tried to just skip this whole deal by making my music share-able across accounts but it won't let me do that either.

"The file could not be shared"

So eh...I could probably wait until I get home, hook up my external HD and transfer everything that way, but is there a way to make itunes work again?

The best way to fix this is to reinstall iTunes. Part of the install is creating or repairing all these associations.
