Most of you techies are probably familiar with the Oculus Rift VR headset, or have at least heard about it. Norwegians Christer-André Fagerslett has been at work on a program called VirtuaView; which is basically an online immersive chat room where you can interact with up to 100 people in your room/server.

I was reading through it and watching the demo videos and I thought it was pretty cool and worth posting. Its currently an Indiegogo campaign looking for funding. The demo video does it more justice:



As you can see it's still in early stages but could you imagine education with that a few years down the line? you can basically design any 3D environment and interact with friends or students, from creating an open art gallery to watching a movie on an asteroid in space. The possibilities are awesome.

We're one step closer to surrogates lol
