Citizen Kane is definitely the best of the "classic" movies. I really don't think there's any way to get around how genius that film is

Its Godfather sub titled? I though I cought a few min of that on AMC or some channel like that, if it was sub titled thats could be a reason some people avoid it. I like having CC on during some movies, but subtitles I don't care to much for.

That's because you're illiterate.

It's only subtitled during a few of the Italian parts.

-2001: a space odyssey (I have only seen the first 20 minutes and the last 10 minutes...I have attempted to watch it a few times and always fall asleep.)
-The Pianist (looked stupid and boring.)
-Jaws series (my mother thought it would scare me as a child and I just haven't had any strong urge to see a fake shark eat a person as an adult.)
-Fargo (always wanted to see it, never got around to it. I think I'll rent it this week.)
-Terminator series (Arnold is GHEY!)
Also, I have never taken the time to watch anything with Chuck Norris in it because I don't think he's cool and I don't believe his tears can cure cancer...

Sorry, we have no matches for turpid
Did you mean torpid? Other Suggestions:
tepid
Turpin
turbid
turgid
Tupi
turd
typed
stupid
toroid

not sure if you are criticizing my post because your choice of words is unrecognizable. are you using your wise judgment skills to say my list is lukewarm? or perhaps you like to doch and say my post is lethargic. i don't know. either way, the only word that seems to describe my list is "typed." however i see two words that self-describe you fairly accurately.

Turpid
[irreg. f. L. turp-is ugly, unsightly, foul, disgraceful + -ID, after torpid, etc.]

Base, filthy, worthless. Hence {sm}turpidly adv.

Wow, whisp. You changed your post from "your mom is turpid" to something where you embarrass yourself. Also quit using "doch" because you don't understand where it fits in context whatsoever. "Your a doch ponuh! your trying to doch me!"

your word isn't in yahoo and it isn't in merriam-webster either. i'm not embarassed to point out that you need to speak english rather than dochish and refrain from conjuring up unused words. i've defined to you what doch is before using it in case you didn't know, although you apparently seem to be an expert on what doch means.

that said, i was right to assume your post was a doch. you're predictable. i assume you're just going to call my opinions "worthless" and not explain yourself. like ive said before, you should go into review writing. you seem like the kind of person who always stands off to the side shooting negative reviews at everything while remaining immune from scrutiny by never actually having anything of substance exit your brain, the kind of person who would piss everyone off with opinions that fail to appreciate talent and tend to promote abstract shittiness.

In Whisp's defense, the word is rarely used but not obsolete according to the Oxford English Dictionary (where I stole the definition from). Although as opposed to arguing over who can pull words out of the deepest part of their ass you could at least stick to arguing about movies.

For example: Contact was a bad movie. Why? The build up of the entire movie could hardly accomadate the weak "im ur dad" ending. It was lame.

i hated contact first time i saw it. but after reading some carl sagan books and realizing what a genius he is and how far ahead of his time he is, i began to enjoy the movie more for its message than its cinematic arrangement. a lot of my favs have a common theme of "you don't know what's reality." ppl who have read the book Contact say its way better than the movie.

Can't think of a lot of movies I haven't seen besides some recent releeases like 3:10 to Yuma or There Will Be Blood. I stay up a lot watching random shit on demand so I've seen all kinds of crap, classic or not. One popular (not "classic" but eh) series I had stayed away from was Pirates of the Caribbean, but I recently watched the second and third on demand and thought they were great. I was surprised by how funny they were. First one was /meh.

oh...haven't seen animal house start to finish, only seen the last 40 minutes or so.

DeadLegend you didn't even know Indiana Jones was coming out until like two weeks ago right?

Anyways, There Will Be Blood is the best movie I've ever seen in a theater.
