Ath has mentioned several times that she doesn't like Sanderson's books. Whenever Sanderson releases a new book, he works with a local bookstore to send out signed books. So when I ordered the book, I requested that he sign it with the message you see above.

TBH even if corwin had grandkids to pass the book they'd probably barely know that "James" = "grandpa". So the fact that Ath won't mean anything to anyone is pretty secondary.
