Cor you preordering? I can't decide how I feel about it. While I love her character and I'm sure the book will be amazing, I would have rather had book 3.

Agreed about book 3. I'm going to preorder anyway.

Did you pick up Rogues yet? I'm debating if Pats signature is worth the extra ~30$ compared to amazon.

I picked up rogues about a week ago and have read most of it. I don't read many anthologies or what have you, so my frame of reference is pretty limited on how these sort of things are "supposed" to be. But overall i felt the stories covered a pretty good mix of genres and styles. Only a couple were what I'd call "Not terribly entertaining" Basically give the book overall a 7 with some of the stories being like 5s but some being 8-9s, and I haven't read George RR martin's yet.

As for Pat's story it was good and definitely a different vibe from the others. Definitely maintains the flavor of his novels in a shorter format very well. It also has more half naked bast than you could shake a stick at.

As for paying for his signature on the book I personally wouldn't bother but that sort of thing interests me not at all. But if I did I'd probably wait for the Slow Regard of Silent things or Book 3 as Pat is only a small part of the overall rogues book.

Did you say half naked Bast?

Yes without spoiling anything Bast has a couple pages devoted to a sort of tongue-in-cheek / fanservice-y bathing scene.

It struck me as a sort of amusing placating type gesture to the female audiences who might be otherwise put off by the fact that Kvothe and Bast are licentious individuals. Sort of a Kvothe and Bast have spent a fair bit of their time appreciating the naked female form, it would be remiss if I didn't return the favor to Bast type thing.

Alternatively Pat saw Free! and thought "I can do one better."
